Jim Kelly stars as secret agent
Robert Sand in this Al Adamson directed blacksploitation movie.
Agent Sand is sent up against the evil criminal mastermind who has kidnapped
the daughter of an important Hong Kong official in an attempt to force
the government to lighten up on his drug organization. Of course
he also happens to be a Warlock that leads a cult and is willing to
ransom the girl back for the plans to a terrifying new super weapon
the Freeze bomb! Yeah the movie is that good. So agent Robert
Sand has to fight thru all of the bad guys, including multiple midget
kung fu experts, a voodoo priestess, and a gay karate Satan worshipping
bodyguard. Yeah eventually all of the bad guys die and Sand gets
Holy shit did this movie disappoint
me. Jim Kelly does his best to save this movie with excellent
action scenes (he was the fight co-coordinator), which look pretty good.
Unfortunately these well-executed scenes are surrounded by a really
stupid story line that is packed with so much crap that it is impossible
to follow. The movie isnít helped at all by the awful direction.
I understand that Al Adamson really isnít that much of a director
to begin with, but this has got to be one of his worst efforts.
The movie jumps around and it cut poorly. The dialog isnít very
good and there are many scenes where the actors arenít framed properly.
Speaking of dialog there are a few fight scenes that were clearly shot
without any dialog, but here Adamson in all of his wisdom inserts dialog
when the actorís mouths clearly arenít moving. Not only that
but it is pretty clear that either Jim Kelly refused to say some of
his added lines or wasnít available because they have someone doing
his voice that isnít even close to sounding right. You know
bottom line this is just awful even for a hack like Adamson. Some
of his movies are so bad that they are good. This isnít one
of them. Unless you are a Jim Kelly diehard I would recommend
that you skip this one.
