This movie is everything that
I hoped it would be. There is no doubt that it is a cheesy ďBĒ
movie from the 50s. The low production values and no name cast
are pretty obvious. But the story is interesting and different
with the dead being animated with atomic energy. Sure the story
is silly, but it is also fun. Plus the filmmakers make sure that
not much screen time goes by between acts of mayhem. This makes
for a fast paced and enjoyable movie. The cast plays their roles
straight and do everything that they are asked to do. There are
a few cases of wooden acting and one annoying child actress, but overall
the performances are fine. Oh and you just have to check out the
battle royal at the end of the movie!
There arenít really any effects
in this movie to speak of. The creatures are guys in suits with
very basic stitches applied to their foreheads, and in some cases I
swear they are just drawn on with a grease pen. Still I did like
the gruesome backbreaking scene shown as a shadow near the beginning
of the movie. Also they have a mad scientist lab set up that looks
like it was constructed with the remains from other movies.
This isnít the greatest movie
Iíve seen. This isnít even the best movie Iíve seen this
week. But this is a fun movie that is well paced, never boring,
and will leave you with a smile on your face. When you think about
can you really ask for more?
