The
Grayson Arms is an historic, in need of repair, apartment building
being somewhat updated by its owner, in hopes of selling the place.
Occupied by a strange cast of characters, including at least one killer
(as seen in the opening scene) & starring Judd Nelson, Jennifer
Carpenter ( Exorcism Of Emily Rose), Stacey Dash, James Avery &
with a special appearance by Michael Learned….who us old folks’ll
recognize from The Waltons.
Grayson
Arms is bought by a father/daughter team- moreover paid for by Dad,
managed by ‘is little girl, with the intent of actually making money.
Their first order of business is to get rid of the racist old lady
living in a rent-controlled, 2 bedroom/2 bath and renting it to someone
new for a more reasonable amount. It’s not long before the tenants
start dropping like flies.
The
man is on the case however and I’m sure we’re in good hands. Well,
there is the awkward moment he show’s up at the funeral of one victim
to question the roommates, but other than that...I’m almost willing to
bet he’s a capable lawman. Of course he’s in a race with Dr. Robert
Shepard who has a bit of inside information as to the identity of said
killer.
The
movie is not horrible- is that almost a non-recommendation? It will
keep you guessing for awhile. My only warning is to be careful that
you’ve not seen this under its alternate title.
