Kane, as serial killer Jacob Goodnight, does a fine job. Being that he is close to seven feet tall and still quite muscular, he is very imposing. Especially in comparison to the handful of young women that appear.Throughout the film he is doing mostly physical scenes. Considering he has practically no lines, his strengths as an actor are truly utilized because of this. In my opinion, none of the young actors steal any scenes or come through with a stand out performance, but each plays their part. None of them come of as annoying or as completely piss poor actors. The story was the biggest surprise, as there are some good plot points and a solid back story to all of the madness.
See No Evil is the kind of horror film that the year 2006 needed for the genre. There was a good explanation and not an over explanation of why Jacob Goodnight has become such a psychopath, The story actually made a lot of sense, Kane's character turned out being a solid horror villian, and most of the death scenes were gross and entertaining. This is what makes See No Evil such a solid entry for the year. It's just a fun horror film. It's not one of the greatest ever but it truly does its part for what it is. If you have yet to catch this "Royal rumble of violence!", I highly recommend it as one of my top five picks of this years horror films.
